Update 12/27/2018: Base 1 & Base 2 STL files completely revised. Main issue was that the hot-end was too high in the body, causing the X gantry to touch the...Показать больше
build plate when assembled. E3D V6 hot-end mount has been lowered so that there is much more clearance for all items.

By request I have created a wedge that will mount under the part cooling duct to hold a short strip of LED lights. Example can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3047202

Update 12/24/2018: Base 1 file. Fixed size of screw hole for heads of M3 screws to hold the E3D hot-end in the mount block of Base 1.

The Hero Me base has been updated to work with the popular E3D V6 hot-end!

If you are looking for E3D V6 cooling but with Dual 5015 fans, you can use the Dual 5105 duct from my other Hero design with this E3D mount. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3182917

If you are not using and ABL mount, you will need to print the 'Screws_Lock.stl' file to hold the Base 1 against the X gantry plate.

If you already have a Hero Me based fan duct, you only need to print the two new base mount pieces (Hero Me E3D Base 1 v2.stl and Hero Me E3D Base 2.stl). The cooling fan ducts and ABL options are the same as those found with other Hero Me systems found here:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3182917

The Dual 5015 cooling ducts for the Hero Me will work with this E3D base set.

Also included a cooling duct that uses the stock 4010 blower fan.

The 40mm fan guard on the drawings can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1662879

Note: Print the duct with the front face down flat on the print bed. This will give you the best results and use the least amount of supports (but you DO NEED SUPPORTS).

Print the base parts as provided in the STLs for strength. Supports are needed for the main base part.

For mounting it uses existing screws from the stock setup. The two screws that were used to hold the stock part cooling fan and the two screws that hold the metal fan cage to the X carriage. You will need an M3 bolt and nut to hold the 5015 fan in place. Kelokera has excellent photo instructions on mounting the base onto the X carriage.

For BLTouch:
Use -42 for X and -8 for Y in Marlin settings.

For EZABL:
Use -45.5 for X and -4 for Y in Marlin settings.
